The Resting Place

This is a 2D horror game focused on storytelling rather than other kinds of horror games.

There will be lots of improvements in the game in the future like adding a bathroom and the most important thing of all jumpscares.

Currently There is a bug in the lore screen when it's done telling you the story "Press any key to continue " should pop up which isn't happening currently.

Note: Still if you press any key after the lore screen has told you the entire story the game starts normally.

Enjoy!

Hi! I just rated this game; however, I did rate on the lower end. But please do not take this score personally! This is just my impression of the game based on the categories that were listed!

From a more holistic view...THIS IS REALLY IMPRESSIVE! Especially to tackle something like this after work you've done a great job. Since I'm just learning how to make games the fact you were able to make a mini 2D platformer within TWO WEEKS! Is astounding! It took me a whole MONTH just to understand sprites and connecting movement to input keys!

From what I see, this is definitely a raw skeleton you have here that can be improved upon greatly. Especially with its strong build up in the intro - you have incredible storytelling skills. Don't give up on this! Go towards what you imagined for it!

A bug I encountered, or if that's the whole game, was that the E interaction with the bedroom door wasn't working after getting the key! Another would be the audio; it doesn't play in the background only when the character is moving. Additionally, when it came to the text sometimes the dialogue would stay stuck on the button and after a couple of clicks it would switch to the next line when triggered by an object interaction.

That's all! Best of luck!

Thanks for your honest review man!
